• Blot as much as excess from the area of stain. This is very important as if you by any chance rub it , soak it or wipe it the stain will be PERMANENT.
• Identify the source of the stain or what type of stain it is. Its a bit difficult to identify the type of stain, at times you have to smell to identify.

• For the greasy type stains and stains of ink, dab a small amount of dry cleaning liquid on the area of stain. Once this is done, dab with a small quantity of dish washing liquid and warm water. Make sure you blot outside in. Let it stand for about 5 minutes.
• For stains from juices and wine, make a mix of laundry detergent with lukewarm water. Use the mix to blot the stain. Now use club soda to sponge lightly the are of stain and again blot using the detergent-water mix.
• For stains from dairy products and eggs, use a sponge to blot ammonia with warm water over the stained area. Then blot using a mixture of warm water and white vinegar.
• Once the previous steps have been done according to the nature of the stain, place dry paper towels over the stained area and let it dry. Sometimes you have to let it dry overnight.
• Once the stain is dry, use a flat brush to pick up almost all the dry particles. After brushing use a vacuum cleaner to pull out the remaining dry stain.
