Collecting a patent involves 3 main steps. They are having a constant persistent effort, a complete knowledge of the process and most importantly an original idea. The idea and the efforts to be put in are your responsibility. The process involves 3 major steps. They are discussed as follows-

1. Determine the type of patent- There are 3 types of patents.1st one is the Utility Patent. The United States Patent and Trademark office defines it as one that is "issued for the invention of a new and useful process, machine, manufacture, or composition of matter".2nd one is the Design Patent. It is defined as a new, original and ornamental design for an article of manufacture. The 3rd one is called the Plant Patent which is basically used for having a new and distinct asexually reproduced plant organism.

2. Search existing patents-This involves an extensive search of the existing patents to confirm whether or not your idea has already been patented or any other person is looking to patent your idea. It is advisable if one takes the help of a patent attorney or an agent for this purpose. Depending on the age of the patents their information is available either in print or in a micro film. Besides the information can also be attained in the official website of Patent and Trademark Office (PTO).

3. Patent application is to be completed-For this purpose you need to download the form from the PTO website. Depending on the type of patents you apply for, you have to file in the summary of your invention, various claims regarding the use of your inventions, a sketch of your invention, and the method of creating the invention. The application fees might also have to be paid at this time.
Collecting a patent is a task that requires a great deal of time and thus you need to have patience to be successful in this regard.

How to Re-issue(Renew) your Indian Passport in India

If you want to renew your passport, it might be a very long drawn and tedious process. For hassle free and quick results follow the simple rules listed below.

You need to have in your possession your old passport (original) and the attested copies of the first four and the last four pages of your passport. This should include the ECR and the ECNR pages as well.Attested copy of the degree certificate needs to be provided if at the time of issue of the previous passport you were a minor and your passport did not have the ECNR stamp.If your address has been changed then with necessary address proof your new address should be furnished.3 color passport size photographs should also be given.

A new passport is reissued and not renewed. When the passport in use is 1 year from expiration or less than 3 years after expiration a passport is reissued. A passport is renewed with no additional costs if it was issued for 1-5 years under emergency conditions.

Application form for reissuing the passport can be obtained from any post office or passport service centre. It is usually the same as the one needed for a new passport. Application fee to be paid is the same as required for a new one. It usually is 1000 Rs. for an adult’s passport of 36 pages. An adult’s passport of 60 pages costs Rs.1500. Passport for minor costs Rs. 600 and it is advisable that you carry some extra money with you for paying for the Police Clearance Fee.

After completely filling in the details in the application form submit the same with the necessary documents to Passport Offices or the DSP’s office or the Speed Post Centres. Make sure you note the File Reference Numbers.

The status of the application form can be checked in by putting the File Reference Number.

One can even make a passport by asking a travel agent to do it. He has to pay the travel agent his fee but. And just in case the person filing the a passport has resided in an assortment of places he needs to fill in a Persons Particulars form and he needs to provide all the addresses that he has stayed in.
