The first consideration before you start a catering service is that how will you buy a catering truck. The truck should be able to fulfill all your business requirements. But it all depends upon how much you can afford to spend on the truck.

After you have determined what will be your range you can start searching for your truck. Perhaps the best possible way is to contact the other caterers and ask for suitable advice. You can ask them where did they manage to get their trucks and how much it cost them. Enquire about the reputed dealers and if there are any economical credit options that are available. Once you are done with it you can start your search.

Catering truck dealers in your place is the next place you should be visiting. It is advisable if you have someone with you with some knowledge on mechanics. You should ensure that the truck you buy should be mechanically sound as if your truck is not reliable your reputation will be at stake. Certain conditions need special notice like whether or not the truck will have a warranty or if they will loan a truck if your truck breaks down and so on. Make sure you test drive the truck and you check if all the instruments are working.

Thereafter make an offer. You should never offer the manufacturer’s price as they are distended costs that allow some room for negotiation for the sales people. Make an offer price which is about 75-80% of their price. They will negotiate at a price higher than this one and you are required to make an offer at a price somewhere between the previous price you offered and this price that they offered. Take advantage of the situation that is prevailing. All the automobile companies are going through a bad phase.

Lastly determine how much you have to pay on a monthly basis if you need finance for your truck.
