Todays economy is characterized be ever increasing prices and is basically a recession hit economy which just takes care to see that matters become worse every passing day. But still there are ways by which one can cut down costs and one of the ways is an exchange club. In an exchange club the members have to basically barter the goods they have for the ones they need. But there are certain key steps you need to consider before you get started.

The first thing you need to consider before venturing into the business is that you need to identify what items will have to be exchanged in your club. Depending on your community in which you live certain items will be preferred more than other items. For instance a community that has retirees living in large numbers will not exchange children’s clothing or family oriented communities will not look to exchange glass figurines etc. You actually have to cater to the community in which you live by customizing your merchandize according to the preferences of the majority of the community in which you live.

You can design your exchange club to be charitable or a profitable organization as well. Making your club a profit generating one by imposing an annual membership fee for all participants you can generate a substantial amount of income as well as conduct marketing activities to promote your club for other communities as well. Or you can also end up making your club a charitable one where no fee is charged and members can exchange goods with each other independent of a central repository. But for this purpose the structure of the club needs to self supporting.

The main benefit of an exchange club is that it actually helps a community to help itself in tough economic times.
